IN SPITE OF HAVING SAME PHYSICAL SHAPE WHY DVD HAS MORE CAPACITY THAN CD

I know it is very old question to discuss, but i want to make it more clear today ... Just want to say that CD and DVD has same physical shape but still having different size ..WHY????? And even DVD's are of different sizes in the market...
Do you know a DVD holds about 7 times larger data than CD..
In simple tone it is said that DVD has higher capacity than CD due to one main reasons that are...
1)A DVD uses a different laser with a smaller wavelength to record data..Hence it can store larger data than    CD.

But i want to discuss it briefly. DVD can store more data than CD because of three main reasons that are mentioned below:
1)Higher-Density data storage
2)Less overhead, more area
3)Multi-layer storage

Lets discuss the above reason...
1)Higher-Density data storage :- A standard DVD can store 7 times more data than CD..This is because pits and tracks are smaller in DVD's in comparison to CD's.
By reading above we can guess about how much data will be available on DVD more than CD due to tighter pits and tracks. The track pitch on a DVD is 2.16 times smaller, and the minimum pit length for a single-layer DVD is 2.08 times smaller than on a CD. By multiplying these two numbers, we find that there is room for about 4.5 times as many pits on a DVD. So where does the rest of the increase come from?

2)Less overhead, more area :-
On a CD, there is a lot of extra information encoded on the disc to allow for error correction -- this information is really just a repetition of information that is already on the disc. The error correction scheme that a CD uses is quite old and inefficient compared to the method used on DVDs. The DVD format doesn't waste as much space on error correction, enabling it to store much more real information. Another way that DVDs achieve higher capacity is by encoding data onto a slightly larger area of the disc than is done on a CD.

3)Multi-layer storage :-
This facility has increased the storage capacity between varieties of DVD's...A DVD has multi layer storege capacity means it can store information in form of layers..A DVD has maximum 4 layers i.e 2 layer at each side..
Hope you got the answer ...

DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SLEEP AND HIBERNATE OPTION IN COMPUTER

From the past few days i was confused whether to use SLEEP or HIBERNATE..I searched many fact about both the term and found there are differences between them..And we have to use this two option wisely according to our use.
I know most of them know about it..But still i want to share this post as it was useful to me..
In many cases both the options play the same role but they have the differences too..

SLEEP also called as standby mode reduces the power consumption to a very low state but it needs some power to continue that stage of stand by..People uses SLEEP mode to quickly open the laptop as it does not take time by pressing the power button...We can use the SLEEP option only we have to open the laptop in a short while as it needs some continuous power supply to stay in SLEEP mode. Most of the documents are also closed in SLEEP mode..

But the case is different in HIBERNATE mode..HIBERNATE mode uses zero power consumption...This mode can be used when we want to turn of the computer for a long time...This mode can also be used when we don't want to close our documents..

So friends use this option wisely as it will save your battery and also your open documents before shutdown..

SOME IMPORTANT WEB BROWSING TRICKS

According to me most of us often spend time in web browsing..Have you ever thought to reduce the workload while browsing or surfing internet....If you know its good for you but if you don't know then no need to worry..I' am here to show you some tricks that will help to reduce your workload to some extent..

1)Automatically add www. and .com to a URL :-

You can shave off a couple of seconds typing in a URL by simply pressing CTRL + Enter after you type the name of the site. Need .net instead of .com, press CTRL + Shift + Enter instead.

2)Bring back a closed tab :-

If you accidentally closed a tab. Simply press CTRL + Shift + T to reopen the most recently closed tab and get back to what you were doing..

3)Use private browsing :-

The uses for not having cookies and history saved are obvious for certain activities, you know, like shopping for gifts on a shared computer (of course!). Pressing CTRL + Shift + N will launch a new private in Chrome, CTRL + Shift + P will do it in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

4)Cycle through open tabs :-

Pressing CTRL + TAB while in a browser will flip between each one. This can be much faster than moving the mouse and clicking on a tab. CTRL + NUM (1, 2, 3, 4, n..) will also take you to certain tab in that numeric order.

Friends try it now and have fun..

NOTHING IS KEPT PRIVATE IN GOOGLE

Ya its title is clear..Nothing is kept private in google . I came to know this through a news channel today and thought to share it with you..The privacy policy of google is such that it promises you that your data will kept private and will not be shared with other organisations or other domain under certain conditions..

But we all gmail users in spite of having  passwords for our respective email id, our account is not private...
I will explain you how..First i want to explain it generally then i will come to google..internet is a big space and there are different owners of that space ...when that owner gives you some space to you to work on it...Don't you think he would be having a copy of your work every time...

The same happens for the google..When you send a mail, the one copy of mail is send to american government...It doesn't matter how earlier you have sent that mail, it will be retrieved by american government at any time within seconds..However this is only used by FBI when the are investing upon any criminal issues...

So my dear friend don't keep your personal data like photo, video etc on your gmail account as it is not private...Google has a copy of it...

Do you actually know what is "HACKING" ?

When the word hacking is spilled out..The only thing come to mind is illegal works over internet like password stealing, altering a website content etc.. But do you know it is not a hacking..Today in this era Hacking is interpreted in wrong manner...Let me explain you..

During the 1990s, the term "hacker" originally denoted a skilled programmer proficient in machine code and computer operating systems. In particular, these individuals could always hack on an unsatisfactory system to solve problems. This process of solving problems is called HACKING.

Unfortunately, some of these hackers also became experts at accessing password-protected computers, files, and networks and came to known as "crackers." Of course, an effective and dangerous "cracker" must be a good hacker and the terms became intertwined. This process of doing illegal work is termed as CRACKING.

But today hacking is wrongly used in place of cracking and it hurts the feeling of certified hackers in this era..
So From today onwards if you came to know about all this stuff..Try to point out in the right way..

LIMITATIONS OF RECYCLEBIN

As we all know recyclebin is placed on our computer desktop to retrieve data that were accidently deleted.
But do you know there are some limitations of recyclebin... Some data deleted accidently cannot be retrieved from recyclebin.. Today i am going to discuss about some limitations of recyclebin. Mainly there are three limitations of recyclebin..
Here are the three limitations of recyclebin :-

1)Files deleted from removable media (i.e memory card, pen drive, usb, jump, flash drives, external hard drives) connected via USB, Bluetooth are deleted permanently..

2)Files deleted through command prompt are also deleted permanently.

3)A recyclebin has a definite size to hold data..It starts to delete data to make space when the volume deleted exceeds its memory limit..

So dear friends be careful about deleting the data from above places..Otherwise you will not be able to retrieve data from there..
